Why Me?

Yeah! Another Not Me! Monday has arrived after taking a break for the holiday last week. So here it goes!

I did not sit on a camping chair out front and have it immediately break through. Not Me! That is something that the universe doesn't allow to happen to pregnant women as a law of compassion! And I did not have to resign myself to the automatic handicap chairs at Walmart. Not Me! I do not ride around in those things as if I were elderly or had an issue with my legs. Not Me! Who does that when your only malady is a huge mid-section? I will give myself points that I have not had to do that twice now. LOL

As a side note - walking around the store too long brings on contractions and dizziness so.....

I did not go through 6 bags of ice in 1 week. Not Me! Who lets their cravings get THAT out of control? And I did not have my poor hard working husband go to the store at 1am to retrieve said ice. No way, that's mean. Not Me!!!!!

Welcome to Not Me! Monday! This blog carnival was created by MckMama. You can head over to her blog to read what she and everyone else have not been doing this week.

Found your blog through mckmama's and thought I would check out what you did not do this week. Love the ice comment! I would never do that either...ahem. Maybe not. Ok I would totally do that! Hey you are building a child! If it helps I had to use the electric cart a time or two myself when I was pregnant because he was on my sciatic nerve and I could not stand for more than 10-15 minutes with out my leg going numb and giving out. You go girl and don't worry about it! God Bless You!

Great not mes. I have not heard of someone craving ice. What a strange pregnancy craving. Love that you are cruising walmart in those chairs. That is hilarious.

That is a serious ice craving. I had some cravings with some of my pregnancies, but not that extreme, lol. Hopefully not too much longer for you.

Blessings,
Kimberly

Wow! Six bags of ice in one week! That has to be a record! I too craved ice like mad when I was pregnant with Bryce. I couldn't get enough! With Ian, all I wanted were hot wings! Spencer I didn't have any specific craving. Well it won't be long sis! You can do it! I can't wait to meet my nephew! Love you tons!

Hi! I remembered that craving ice can indicate anemia. I googled this: "Craving and chewing ice (pagophagia) is often associated with iron deficiency anemia — although it may be associated with other nutritional problems as well.

It's not known why some people with iron deficiency anemia crave and chew ice. Researchers from one recent study suggested it may be because of ice's pain-relieving properties, since some people with iron deficiency anemia experience tongue pain and inflammation (glossitis). The same researchers found that ice has a new and better taste to some people who are iron deficient."

If you follow "B" at http://littleoneapril.blogspot.com/she's been craving BEEF during her pregnancy with April Rose. She usually prefers turkey and chicken. I've noticed my body craving beef monthly so my theory is WOMEN NEED IRON!

Just sayin'....

May God give you all kinds of strength and rest!

I was going to say that craving ice is often an iron deficiency, but Michal Ann beat me to it (even though ice doesn't have iron). And I've heard chocolate cravings are a B-vitamin deficiency (even though chocolate doesn't really provide B-vitamins). Those are the only two I know. And I know that certain foods stimulate certain glands which produce feelings of comfort and happiness. I wonder if there is a book or something out there that says what your body is saying when it craves certain things.
